Why we chose Roofspace for our 4x4 campers
Roof Space 2
Since Georgia is a country with very changeable climates – from high mountains where it can get really cold at night, to hot steppe deserts and warm swimming beaches – it was immediately clear to us: we need a rooftop tent that can adapt to all situations.
Furthermore, we wanted a tent that is easy and quick to set up and pack away again. We have enough experience with conventional rooftop tents that we have seen here in Georgia at other rental companies – and to be honest: we didn't want to resort to such cheap solutions under any circumstances. At one of these tents, four adults tried for over half an hour to set up a two-person tent – and the result looked anything but safe.
Since there was no large selection of high-quality rooftop tents here in Georgia, we expanded our search – and finally met the guys from Roof Space at the holiday fair CMT, where we were exhibitors ourselves. They showed us their displayed rooftop tents – and we were immediately enthusiastic.
With a stable aluminum floor and high-quality materials, they showed us live how a single person can set up and pack away the whole tent in under 2 minutes. Thanks to a clever design, the entire construction is simply pulled from one side to the other with a rope – and the tent folds open and shut like a book. Inside, everything is already set up – you don't need any additional preparations.
Additionally, there are windows in all directions – no annoying "How do we have to park so that the entrance faces the beautiful view?" With a few simple poles, the side windows can be set up very easily; the fabric serves additionally as a small roof against sun or rain.
In addition to the entrance, there is a window at the back wall and one in the roof, which can even stay open during rain or snow, as it consists of robust, transparent, and foldable plastic. All windows can be covered with fly screens – and of course, closed completely for nightly privacy.
The interior is pleasantly spacious – with a height of up to 130 cm, you can happily spend time inside during the day, whether for reading, changing, or simply resting.
Inside the tent itself, there is already a high-quality 6 cm thick anti-condensation mesh mattress, which is not only comfortable but also offers enough space for two adults plus a small child (sleeping area approx. 205 x 135 cm). Since the mattress does not take up the full length of the tent, storage space remains at the front and back – ideal for leaving shoes or personal items within reach when unfolded. While driving, you can also leave blankets, pillows, or light sleeping bags up in the tent – you don't have to take everything down every time.
The tent fabric consists of robust polyester ripstop fabric. According to the manufacturer, the tent was tested for seven days in a rain chamber and withstands a water column of 3000 mm – whatever that is supposed to mean, you won't get wet.
Additionally, if you travel with us in the low season, there is a thermal inner tent that is very easily mounted from the inside, fitted perfectly around the mattress, which creates a very cozy and cold-protected sleeping place, in which, according to stories, people have already slept comfortably in -20 degrees. In the folded state, the inner tent can also be left inside.
All these features definitely convinced us to equip our 4x4 off-road vehicles with the Roof Space – so that we ourselves are comfortable on the road and can send you on your journey worry-free with our rental cars, to discover Georgia completely relaxed and without stress.
